BBC White City – Scudders

PHD erected Access Layher Scaffold, to the Scudder facetted perimeter of the rotunda at the BBC Studios Wood Lane, a Listed Building, enabling safe demolition works. A hoist is tied to the PHD scaffold for removal of rubble & debris and the scaffold is Monarflex sheeted for protection. As the building is listed PHD had to overcome the challenge of fixing the scaffold safely and tying in without damaging any of the existing building.

PHD’s works comprise of a Public pedestrian access and goods loading gantry over Cannon Street ( 117m x 3m x 4m high) and Queen Victoria Street (87m x 3m x 4m high).  This enables safe access to the perimeter of the massive site in the middle of The City for the Public as well as the safe unloading and distribution of materials into the site which has the full footprint

London Stadium – Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

The Stadium Roof Strengthening & Transformation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Stadium is a pinnacle of technical prowess. Even more importantly, it should be appreciated that PHD’s radical methodology dramatically reduced the safety risks, associated with the Stadium Roof Strengthening & Transformation works being carried out 37m above the ground, by obviating the need for 256,000 scaffold components (0.8kg each) – each a potential risk hazard falling from height!
