We’re excited to share that Paul Voy has been awarded a tablet for his exceptional dedication to safety at Eli Lily in Limerick! This recognition, presented by Killian O Halloran from John Paul Construction, is a testament to Paul’s hard work and commitment to ensuring a safe working environment. His submission of one of the best SORs (Safety Observation Reports) for last month truly exemplifies his proactive approach to safety.

NASC Large Project of the Year Award
PHD is delighted to be the winner of this year’s NASC Awards. We were up against some stiff competition for the Project of the Year (Large) Award, but it was our dedication to social value and sustainability that put the HMS Victory in Portsmouth project at the top of the judges’ list.

PHD Team - Jacobs
Well done to everyone working on our Jacobs site in Ireland! Jacobs commended all PHD scaffolders working on L4 for their hard work and safe behaviours during a challenging time removing scaffolding from the site. The squad had their photos taken to be inputted into Jacob’s site-wide communication.

Site Safety – Wuxi
The PHD team at the Wuxi manufacturing facility in Ireland has won this week’s ‘Site Safety Award’ for their ongoing adherence to the projects’ Covid 19 rules. Also, our telehandler operator has won a voucher for having submitted this month’s best ‘Safe Plan of Action’. A massive well done to Graeme Parker and all the team; Safety by Choice, Not by Chance.

Hat-trick win for PHD Access
PHD Access is ecstatic to have won the Access and Scaffolding Specialist category at the 2020 CN Specialist Awards. This is the third time in a row PHD has picked up this award, having won in 2018 and 2019. The award is the culmination of another outstanding year for PHD, which has seen continued growth and work both internally and on our projects. The judges said PHD had a “very thorough submission and met all the criteria. A very good pro-active approach in the pre-construction phase, and good use of social media to display mental health initiatives.”

Apprenticeship Initiative Finalist
PHD are pleased to have reached the finalist stage for the Apprenticeship Initiative of the Year category at the CN Talent Awards 2019. PHD entered the Apprenticeship Initiative of the Year category after a successful year actively promoting and adapting the scheme to be better and more worthwhile for the apprentices. PHD created a new Apprenticeship Coordinator role, so each apprentice had a dedicated person to communicate with.

Congratulations to Matt S, a scaffolder at our Stag House site, who has been selected as Wates Group’s Safety Award Winner this month. “Matt has consistently demonstrated a level of safety that goes above and beyond the norm. His can-do attitude, and positive approach to safety has been consistent throughout his time on the project. He is always keen to help and nothing ever seems to be too much of a problem for him to overcome.” Well done!

PHD Modular Access Services is delighted to have won both the Access & Scaffolding Specialist of the Year and the Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor (subcontract between £1m to £3m) awards at last week’s Construction News (CN) Specialists Awards.
