The British Firefighter Challenge 2024
The 2024 British Firefighter Challenge was a great success, showcasing some of the most capable firefighters from around the United Kingdom.
The 2024 British Firefighter Challenge took place in Liverpool, on 27th and 28th of July. The British Firefighting Challenge is a competition organised by firefighters for firefighters, with participation from all over the United Kingdom. It is an annual sporting event that simulates real-life scenarios. This year the British Firefighting Challenge had nearly 300 participants from different fire departments across the United Kingdom.
The British Firefighter Challenge offers two full days of action-packed entertainment for the audience and raises important funds for the Firefighter Charity.
The Crofton Tower
The Crafton Tower, a 12-meter, 12-ton structure, stands as a symbol of hope and resilience for the British Firefighter Challenge. The impressive tower is constructed through the collaborative efforts of PHD Access and Crofton Engineering. Each year PHD has been volunteering to assist Crafton Engineering in assembling and dismantling this monumental tower, showcasing their dedication and expertise in scaffolding.
This year, we successfully transported the scaffolding materials from Rickmansworth Fire Station to Liverpool in just two days. We provided two lorries loaded with the scaffolding materials, along with two drivers, Jed Angles and Andy Duff, who ensured the safe and timely delivery of the materials.

When asked about the support PHD is providing to British Firefighting Challenge our Transport Manager, Damien Gilmartin, expressed:
It was great to once again work alongside the firefighters to support such a great cause. Over the course of four days, our drivers not only delivered and collected the scaffolding equipment but also assisted the team with the construction and dismantling of the tower.
