Third Time Win for PHD Access
PHD Access is ecstatic to have won the Access and Scaffolding Specialist category at last nights (17th November) CN Specialist Awards. This is the third time in a row PHD has picked up this award, having won in 2018 and 2019.
The award is the culmination of another outstanding year for PHD, which has seen continued growth and work both internally and on our projects.
The judges said PHD had a “very thorough submission and met all the criteria. A very good pro-active approach in the pre-construction phase, and good use of social media to display mental health initiatives.”
The CN Specialist Awards celebrate the very best specialist contractors in the UK, with the winners having impressed the judges during a rigorous judging process involving face-to-face assessment to a panel of industry experts.
This year, due to COVID-19, the awards went virtual, offering finalists to watch from the comfort and safety of their own home or workplace.
Danny Dwyer, Managing Director says, “We are delighted to win the access and scaffolding specialist for a third consecutive year; particularly given that 2020 has been such a challenging year for everyone.
“I want to thank everyone at PHD for this fantastic achievement. Our teams have worked extremely hard and are passionate about the work that they do. This award is not just a reflection on the excellent people we invest in at PHD, but also the clients and contractors who we collaborate with on our projects.
“We made a conscious decision to focus on collaboration at the pre-construction phase to provide the correct access solution for our clients and it is great to see this reflected in the judges’ comments.
“This year we have hugely improved our mental health awareness. We appointed a proactive Mental Health First Aider who visited all our sites to give introductory seminars on the subject, and curated leaflets, posters, and a video with our marketing department. All of our Senior Leadership team and site managers have undergone Mental Health First Aid training, we have implemented a new mental health initiative to provide an informal network for anyone needing to talk.
PHD was up against fierce competition for the award, including AFI Uplift, CastleBuild Scaffolding, LTC Scaffolding, QFS Scaffolding, Rose System Scaffolding and TPA. However, the judges decided that it was PHD’s dedicated focus to mental health awareness that really impressed them.
A huge congratulations to all winners on the night.
